Join us for a practical crash course on the history, purpose, and use of RUSLE2. During the course, you will be downloading and using the publicly accessible Caltrans version of the RUSLE2 software and working through various scenarios as a class. The goal of this course is to give you a working knowledge of how to use the RUSLE2 software and provide you with tips and tools that can help you to successfully use it on your projects.
This 3-hour course will be held online and will help you get started in using the software that is now being required under the California Storm Water Construction General Permit. We are encouraging the class participants to use their downloaded version of RUSLE2 during the class. And while we will specifically be talking about the California Construction General Permit, this class on RUSLE2 is applicable to anyone wanting to implement the software for their project sites.
Please note that the current version of RUSLE2 only works in a Windows environment. We have encountered individuals who have experienced difficulty in downloading, installing, and/or running the software on their computers due to firewalls, security settings, or other system restrictions or limitations. WGR does not provide extensive RUSLE2 troubleshooting support. Although Caltrans is graciously providing their version of the software to the public, Caltrans does not provide RUSLE2 technical support for non-Caltrans projects. We recommend that, before signing up and paying for the class, you confirm that you are able to download and install the RUSLE2 software from the Caltrans website. The instructors for WGR Southwest, Inc. will be sharing and demonstrating what they have learned about the software but are not representatives of Caltrans or claim to be experts in the design, use, or support of the software.
